Description

The second shelf of the Doctor’s Bag display, located on the south wall of the Museum, includes two donated bags. Pictured on the right is a well-worn brown leather Obstetrician’s bag with slotted top and side locks (circa 1940s), donated by Nathan & Debra Newman. To the left is Dr. Lowell L. Kvam’s Bag (circa 1960s); it is a black leather club style bag with a slotted lock and original key. It is constructed of warranted pig skin and was donated to the Museum in 2005 by his wife, Carolyn Kvam. Between the bags is a plastic dispenser with three remaining glass mercury oral thermometers (circa 1960s).
