Description
This early diorama of an 1880s Operating Room Theater portrays an accurate depiction of the operating room dimensions, instruments, and surgeon and nurse attire complete with the administration of ether anesthesia. The observers were in the room watching an operative procedure that predated use of gowns, gloves, and masks. It was designed and constructed by doll artist Ann Humphries in 1973 and donated to the Museum by the Bonita Springs Historical Museum.
