Description

This display case located on the western wall of the Museum features a variety of the tools of the trade for Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. Pictured on the top shelf are magnifying glasses used for ophthalmological surgery along with glass items for eye irrigation and an ophthalmoscopic kit at the far left for external examination of the eye and retina. The second shelf features aids for routine eye examination including visual acuity. The bottom shelf includes more sophisticated devices for ocular examination, ocular pressure measurement and a 1940s era reference textbook entitled Diseases of the Eye.
