Description
This 1916 horse-drawn buggy was used by Dr. M.F. Johnson to travel to his patients' homes in Fort Myers and LaBelle over mostly dirt roads. It was manufactured by the D.J. Bohan Company in Harrisburg, KY and traveled at 7 mph, pulled by a single horse. Dr. Johnson was a General Practitioner and Obstetrician who practiced until his 80th birthday. Adjacent to the buggy are three mannequins representing donated nursing uniforms from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
Supplemental file includes a close up of a miniature replica of the Doctor's Buggy including the horse.
