Description
In the 1920s, virtually every item used in the surgical suite was reusable, including the surgical gloves. A pair of size 8 reusable gloves are displayed (left) along with a contemporary pair of size 8 latex disposable gloves. Zoom in and see the story of Dr. Halsted's original introduction of surgical gloves, in 1894, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, first for his assistant and later for all O.R. personnel.
