This is a 1985 Stockert-Shiley Heart-Lung Bypass Machine donated by the former Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center. With this device, a professional Perfusionist maintained the patient's circulation, lung function, temperature, and anesthesia levels during an open-heart surgical procedure (see the storyboard at the upper right corner of this image).
