Zimmer Model and Knee
The left side of the third shelf provides a large articulated model of a total knee replacement generously donated by the Zimmer corporation. Key developments for the evolution of total knee replacements follow to the right with the elements of a total knee replacement prosthetic displayed in the foreground. In the background a completed right total knee replacement X-ray image is contrasted with the normal left knee. A QR code again provides an animation video of the Total Knee Replacement procedure from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Finally, an artist’s depiction of degenerated cartilage, for a right knee, is contrasted with the appropriate Prosthetic Knee Replacement X-ray, to the left of the storyboard.
