Description
At the center of the bottom shelf a most unique pair of artifacts, designed by Drs. Fenning and Warnock, for removal of a stubborn ingrown prosthesis is displayed. In the background is a silver-colored mallet named “The Persuader”. The longer copper-colored artifact, in the foreground, was designed to provide torque or leverage to extract a problematic prosthesis. Popular commentary indicates that this original innovation was adapted from the axle of a Volkswagen Beetle. For good reason it was known as “BIG JACK”. The storyboards behind these large instruments complete the purpose and historical anecdotes for these devices. The small storyboard to the extreme right of the bottom shelf provides an acknowledgment to the five consultants and contributors for this display.
