Description
The evolution of Physician practice, regarding the prescription and dispensing of medication, in the 1800’s and early 1900’s is discussed. The storyboards surrounding this display chronicle the professional careers of Fort Myers Physician/Pharmacist Robley Dunglinson Newton, MD, his prominent physician ancestors and his son. The corner Pharmacy display and artifacts depicted are somewhat modeled after Hunter’s Drugstore in downtown Fort Myers. The tools and developmental pharmacy artifacts of practice, as well as compounding products, are described contrasting traditional medicines with “Snake Oil" panaceas.
